Greggs — the estate on the map
Every Greggs location recorded in OpenStreetMap as at early August 2026 — 2,129 of the 2,773 shops trading at 27 June 2026 (around 77% mapping coverage; gaps are mapping gaps, not trading gaps). Zoom in to any town.

Reading the map. Coverage is already close to blanket across the North East heartland, Yorkshire, the Midlands, the central belt of Scotland, London and South Wales. The 3,500-shop ambition therefore rests on the white space between the dots — petrol forecourts, supermarkets, retail parks, travel hubs, hospitals and universities, plus smaller formats where a full shop can’t justify itself; over half of new openings are already beyond the high street. Greggs doesn’t publish opening dates for individual shops, so shops opened in the last twelve months can’t be reliably shown in a different colour. This map reflects my personal opinions and is not investment advice. Sources: OpenStreetMap contributors (Overpass query, August 2026); Greggs interim results, 29 July 2026.
